SoundScout (formerly Monstercat Gold)
SoundScout is the rebuilt version of Monstercat Gold: a subscription catalog of 10,000+ tracks from Monstercat and other labels, with AI search and OBS tools. The Creator plan covers monetized streaming on Twitch and YouTube Live plus claim clearing on connected channels. It is human-made music and states it contains no AI-generated songs.

Streamers and YouTubers who want real chart-style electronic and bass music with channel-based claim clearing on Twitch and YouTube. Where you can use it: Twitch safe with steps, YouTube safe with steps, TikTok safe with steps, Instagram safe with steps, Kick unconfirmed. No credit needed.

Which plan you need
You need the Creator plan to monetize: $14.99/mo billed yearly, $24.99/mo monthly. The cheaper Personal plan ($8.99/mo yearly, $14.99 monthly) is non-monetized use only. Creator allows monetization on 1 channel per platform; extra channels on the same platform need their own subscription. Free trial is capped at 25 downloads. No refunds. Existing Monstercat Gold members were moved to a legacy plan at their old rate.
Can you monetize?
Yes on the Creator plan, on connected channels, 1 channel per platform. Sponsored, branded and paid product placement content is NOT covered and needs a separate commercial licence.
Content ID, claims, and VOD mutes
Tracks are labelled 'Copyright Safe' (track-level). On YouTube and Twitch, connecting your channel allowlists it for automatic claim clearance while subscribed. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Vimeo and X have no auto-clearance. SoundScout can claim and monetize Personal-plan uploads (no strikes or mutes). If you cancel, content posted during the subscription stays cleared; new content may be claimed.
Not sure how claims, strikes, and mutes differ? Read our DMCA guide.
Watch out for
- Monstercat Gold is gone: Gold signup on monstercat.com ended and Gold is now SoundScout. Our old '6 channels per platform' and $7.49/mo figures are wrong. It is 1 channel per platform.
- Only 'Copyright Safe' tracks are protected. Other tracks need a separate licence.
- Sponsored or branded content and client work are not covered by Creator.
- Coverage applies only to videos uploaded during an active subscription; older videos are not cleared.
- Videos must be Public or Unlisted for claims to clear; set new uploads to Unlisted for up to 48 hours first.
- No refunds, and the free trial is capped at 25 downloads.
- The old Monstercat Player is being retired; the Monstercat website account and SoundScout account are separate.
