Which plan you need
Music & SFX Social covers your own channels, 1 per platform (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Twitch) plus 1 podcast, and no client work. Pro allows up to 3 channels per platform and client/paid work, and is billed annually only. $9.99 is the yearly price divided by 12. Prices come from Artlist's Social plan launch post; the live pricing page blocked our reader.
Can you monetize?
Yes, on your own channels. Social doesn't cover client work, commercial work or paid/promoted posts; those need Pro.
Content ID, claims, and VOD mutes
Yes, the catalog is registered with YouTube Content ID. Artlist's Clearlist links your channel or video to your license so claims aren't raised; it covers YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, and Twitch accounts can be added too. Channels and videos added while you're subscribed stay cleared, but you can't add new ones after your plan ends. If you do get a claim, Artlist support can clear it only if the track was downloaded on an active plan and used within your license.
Not sure how claims, strikes, and mutes differ? Read our DMCA guide.
Watch out for
- The Social plan allows only 1 channel per platform. More channels need Pro, which is annual only.
- You must publish while subscribed. A video posted after your plan ends isn't covered, even if you downloaded the track earlier.
- Add every channel to the Clearlist and download your license files BEFORE you cancel.
- Artlist's help pages contradict each other a bit on post-cancel coverage and say a license for specific tracks can be withdrawn.
- The catalog is human-made, but the Max plan includes an AI music generator. Tracks you generate are AI, not catalog music.
- Kick isn't covered by name.
- You can't register Artlist tracks in Content ID yourself.
